Far Field : 원거리 영역
“원거리(Far Field)”라는 용어는 일반적으로 특정 적외선 장비의 초점 거리 이후부터 무한대에 이르는 거리 범위에 위치한 물체를 의미합니다. 가장 작은 측정 스폿은 정확히 초점 거리에서 형성됩니다. 이는 물체에서 방출된 에너지의 약 90%가 이 스폿 크기 내에 집속된다는 것을 의미합니다. 거리 대비 스폿 크기 비(Distance to Spot Size Ratio, D:S)는 이러한 기하학적 특성을 설명하는 지표로, 일반적으로 고온계(Pyrometer)의 데이터시트에 포함됩니다. D:S 비가 높을수록 해당 장비의 광학계에 더 많은 설계 노력과 높은 품질이 투입되었음을 의미합니다. D:S 값은 장비의 초점 거리에서 항상 최대가 됩니다. 초점 거리를 벗어나면 스폿 크기가 급격히 커지므로 D:S 비는 크게 감소합니다. 함께 제시된 그림들은 특정 장비에서 초점 거리와 비교했을 때 원거리 영역에서 D:S 비가 현저히 감소함을 보여줍니다. 정확한 온도 측정을 위해서는 지정된 거리에서 측정 대상 물체가 스폿 크기를 충분히 채워야 합니다. 즉, 초점 거리 이후의 원거리 영역에서는 대상이 멀어질수록 그에 맞게 더 큰 크기를 가져야 합니다. 그러나 실제 현장에서는 물체의 크기와 거리가 고정되어 있는 경우가 많아 이러한 유연성을 구현하기가 어렵습니다. 이 경우 사용자는 초점 범위를 조절할 수 있는 고급 측정 장비를 사용하는 것이 하나의 대안이 될 수 있습니다.
The term “Far Field” generally refers to the range of objects located beyond the focal distance of a particular infrared device, up to an infinite distance. The smallest measuring spot is reached exactly at the focal length. This means that 90 % of the energy emitted by the objects is focused on this spot size. The Distance to Spot Size Ratio (D:S) describes this geometric behavior and is typically included in the datasheets of Pyrometers. A higher D:S ratio indicates better quality and more effort put into the optics of a unit. The D:S value is always at its peak at the focus distance of a device. As the spot size extends rapidly beyond the focus distance, the D:S ratio significantly decreases. The accompanying illustrations demonstrate that the D:S ratio reduces significantly in the Far Field as opposed to the focus distance for a specific device. For an accurate temperature reading, the object being measured should fill the spot size at the specified distance. This means that in the Far Field—beyond the focus distance— the targets have to get larger and larger the further away they are.
